Eco Friendly

Architecture

Our commitment to eco-friendly living extends to the very architecture of Windspur Estate. Led by Project Architect Marita Nell of Elements Architecture, our designs are as clever as they are sustainable. Marita has thoughtfully incorporated roof overhangs that are designed to control the influx of warmth and light during winter while shielding the interiors from excessive heat in the summer.

To further enhance energy efficiency, our building envelopes are equipped with insulation beneath the doors, in external walls, and under the roofs.

Windspur Estate is defined by its "Contemporary Country" architectural theme, ensuring that each residence is a spacious, light-filled oasis harmoniously integrated into the natural environment. With a focus on high ceilings, open spaces, and bedrooms that open onto verandahs, our homes are designed for optimal sunlight capture and natural ventilation.

Energy

Windspur Estate proudly features sustainable energy solutions, including a 52 Volt 5Kw hybrid inverter, a 5 Kw 52 Volt Lithium Ion battery, and 8 x 450 Watt split cell high-power solar panels in all new builds. We are mindful of reducing future electrical costs, limiting the electrical supply to each house to 60 amps. In addition, we've installed energy-saving appliances and lighting, taking advantage of alternative methods such as solar geysers, heat pumps, and gas geysers. These innovations not only reduce your carbon footprint but also lower your utility bills, ensuring a greener, cost-effective future for you and your family.

Planning

Consideration has gone into the orientation of each plot making the most of the sun’s warmth and light, while great care has been taken to ensure that in every case possible no house in the development will look onto another home.

In some areas of the development the platforms of these sites have been leveled at 3 meter increments going up the
hill to ensure side views past and other the house in front and of course they will also enjoy full sun all day. Space planning has also been paramount, ensuring that open areas spread warmth and light through the living areas while natural ventilation helps with the reduction of electricity usage and more importantly promotes good health.
